The life trust with two operational conservancies in Nairobi and one at voi near Tsavo national park this initiative was founded by David sheldrick when he was warden in 1948 at Tsavo national park .the conservancy has grown with time and has upheld sir sheldrick’s’ vision . The conservancies are now home to orphaned elephants that have lost their loved ones after birth and have been left with no one to look after in the harsh condition after been born into a new world of hard ship at Birth where it is survival for the fittest. They track these orphaned animals and take them in where they feed them with a strong rich ‘’Magic milk formula’’ with all necessary nutrients required by the young elephant. For the newly born elephant the conservancy takes more care by attentively assigning keeper who work round the clock to tirelessly to make sure that they are fed , support them emotionally , keep them warm and they are also involved in applying sun screen on their delicate skin before the skin is tuff enough to endure direct sunlight . This is made possible by the rotational work schedule set in place by the conservancy which also helps to avoid the young orphans from been emotionally attached to one person when they take their off days.

By visiting the place you also get to interact with the young animals, feed them and cuddle them as a way of supporting them to see another day today have a feel of this experience and get a chance to impact the world in a positive way.
